In-Person Activities for Kids – Fall 2020

If you’re looking for in-person activities for kids, there are a few local options. I know not everyone is interested in attending indoor or non-virtual events right now, and that’s ok. If you do attend an in-person event, please make sure to follow all of the rules set by the state and by the individual business. Thanks and enjoy! 🙂

Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum – By Reservation Only, See Below

  • Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum, 1100 Main St, Stevens Point, WI 54481
  • Tues, Wed, Fri & Sat: 9am-11am, 11:30am-1:30pm, 2pm-4pm
  • Thursday: 9am-11am, 11:30am-1:30pm, 2pm-4pm, 5pm-7pm

  • Guests over the age of 5 are required to wear face coverings
  • All guests are encouraged to wash hands before and after exploring the  Museum with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

Clay Corner Studio – Monday – Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM

  • Clay Corner Studio, 226011 Rib Mountain Dr, Wausau, WI 54401
  • Half the tables will be available (half will be closed off for social distancing)
  • All guests will be required to wash their hand upon entrance and to wear a mask properly during their entire visit.
  • All guests will be expected to create their own piece.  No non-painters, please.
  • Reservations are for 90 minute time frames.  If you are late, we can hold the table for 15 minutes.
  • You can also paint at home instead!

Play and Learn with Family Resource Centers of Marathon County – Tuesdays, 9 AM – 11 AM

  • Machmueller Park, 7200 Quentin St, Weston, WI 54476
  • Due to new guidelines, we will NOT be taking walk-in’s. You will be required to preregister by calling or texting Nicole at 715-660-0397.
  • We need to keep registrations under 10, so we will begin by offering 2 sessions. We will offer a 9 am session and a 10 am session. Will will be required to social distance, wear face masks and disinfect materials. Crafts will be prepackaged! All “shared” items will be disinfected. Playground is “Use at your own discretion”.

Sunday Morning Tot Time – Sundays, 9:30 AM – 11 AM

  • Sawmill Adventure Park, 608 Creske Ave, Rothschild, WI 54474
  • $7 per child
  • Masks are required inside the building for anyone over 4 years old
  • We politely ask that you keep groups smaller, such as 4-6 people. 
  • Reservations can now be made ahead of time at THIS LINK. Capacity will be updated in real time, so you will be able to see how busy we are prior to coming. If you decide to reserve ahead of time, you will check-in at a designated line upon arrival.  You will provide us with either your name the reservation was made under, a printed voucher/ticket, or the confirmation email that was sent to you after your purchase.  Please arrive 15-20 minutes early, as reservations cannot be adjusted, extended or transferred.  Additional jump time can be purchased, based on availability.
  • Mini Golf is open through September 30, FRI: 4 – 8pm, SAT: 11am – 7pm, SUN: 11am – 7pm

Tots in the Gardens – Tuesdays, 2 PM – 3 PM (Occasionally 10 – 10:30 AM)

  • Monk Botanical Gardens, 1800 N 1st Ave, Wausau, WI 54401
  • Tots in the Gardens is an hour of nature-filled fun for you and your 3-5 year old tot! Each week is a different nature-related topic with a story, game, walk, craft, and snack (picked by you, right out of the garden)!
  • Meet at the kitchen pavilion, and dress for the weather – we’re outside the whole time!
  • $2 for members, $4 for non-members
  • Masks are required for ages 3 and up, all visitors must practice social distancing (6 feet apart), garden trails have been marked one way, bathrooms and artwork are closed for use by visitors
  • The gardens are also open from August 12th-September 30th 7am-7pm and October 1st-March 13th 7:30am-4:30pm

Wildwood Park & Zoo – Daily, 7:30 AM – 6 PM

  • Wildwood Park & Zoo, 608 W. 17th St, Marshfield, WI 54449
  • Admission is FREE, but donations are always welcome!
  • Face coverings are required in the Welcome Center, restrooms, and pavilion for guests over the age of 5.
