One of my favorite events in Wausau is the Balloon and Rib Fest. Being on-site is a little chaotic, but it’s pretty neat to see the balloons inflate and lift off into the air.

Insider tip:

You can watch the hot air balloons and fireworks from Bluegill Bay Park in Rib Mountain. You won’t be able to see the balloons “glow” but you will be able to see them when they lift up and over the trees. Also remember, they won’t launch the balloons if there is too much wind or bad weather.
