It’s almost Valentine’s Day!
If you have young children, you undoubtedly have the same two problems that I have:
- Broken crayons
- Too much candy
This Valentine’s Day my kids will be giving cute, heart shaped crayons to their friends and classmates instead of candy.
Less candy, recycling old crayons, having fun, making something beautiful – these are all wins in my book!
Here’s what you need:
- A silicone heart mold. I used the Wilton 2105-4909 Easy Flex Heart 24-Cavity Silicone Mold. (*Contains affiliate link. Learn more here.)
- A pile of broken crayons (paper removed)
Directions:
- Break (or slice with a knife) crayons into small pieces (I thought breaking them was actually easier.)
- Preheat your oven to 230 degrees
- Fill the hearts with crayon pieces (Let the kids help!)
- “Bake” the crayons at 230 degrees for 15-18 minutes (there shouldn’t be any whole pieces visible)
- Let your new crayons cool in the mold before you pop them out
