📍 149801 State Park Rd, Wausau, WI 54401
You will need an annual or single day Wisconsin State Parks pass to drive into Rib Mountain State Park. (Click here for information about admission fees.) However, if you park at the very bottom of the hill, you can walk or bike up for free!
Features of this playground:
- Bathrooms (open during warm months)
- Two slides
- Rock climbing wall
- Rope bridge
- Spinning feature
- Monkey bars
- Rock tunnel/cave
- Merry-go-round
- Covered picnic areas (not near the playground)
Climb to the top of the observation tower for a great view of the surrounding area. (The view is especially pretty in the fall!)
Insider Tip:
Don’t forget to take a hike! Our kids love to do a short loop on the Blue Trail. If you’re facing the observation tower from the rocky outcropping, the trailhead is just to your left. (Click here to see a map.) The surface is mostly asphalt and rocks which makes it easy to follow!
