“I had fun! I will never play regular golf. Only mini golf.” – My daughter, age 5.
Sawmill Adventure Park is located at 608 Creske Ave, Rothschild, WI near Cedar Creek Mall. Their website clearly outlines their prices and hours, and you can also check their Facebook page for updates. This year, opening day was June 1 and last year the final day was September 30.
When you arrive at Sawmill Adventure Park you pay and get your equipment at the little log cabin building which also houses the concession stand and bathrooms.
My kids enjoyed picking out their ball colors and they received age appropriate clubs. (A child size version of an adult club for my daughter and a plastic little club for my son.)
My daughter (age 5) did a good job of trying to follow the rules (at least at the beginning) and she got very excited when she was able to hit it into the hole. My 2.5 year old son’s favorite part was watching his ball go down a hole and come out in another area. (I’m guessing this is why children age 4 and under are free!)
My kids’ favorite hole was #17 which included a water element.
You were supposed to avoid the water, but my kids both had a lot of fun dropping their balls into the river. (Sometimes the water route was better than the land route!) I could go into more detail, but I think I’ll let the rest be a surprise!
After spending a little more than an hour on our 18 holes of golf, we enjoyed some delicious Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream from the concession stand, which was very refreshing on such a hot day.
Have I piqued your interest? My family and I definitely recommend giving Sawmill Adventure Park a try! (Insider tip: Check the Wausau phone book for coupons!)
I want to thank Sawmill Adventure Park for inviting me to review their mini golf course. Although our admission fees and ice cream costs were generously waived, this in no way influenced my opinions in this review.
